The project restores the typical character of early 20th-century Milanese apartments, which had been compromised by renovations carried out in the building during the 1980s and 1990s. The internal distribution of spaces is returned to its original layout, with the only exception being the living room, which is enlarged by combining two rooms. The flooring design clearly differentiates between service and served areas and combines old and new finishes: the newly installed herringbone pattern, with a honey-colored weave and dark border, complements the cement tile flooring found on site. The light color scheme provides a backdrop for the accessories and furniture, which appear to float in the space like objects placed on a neutral palette.
